Conducting Public Health Research in Ethiopia

This notice of funding opportunity supports research activities in Ethiopia, including human subjects research, that determine effective implementation for responding to public health threats, measure impact of health programs, and characterize public health threats.

Proposals for communicable

credit:


diseases must focus on Ethiopia’s notifiable public health diseases, priority zoonotic diseases, or an emerging pathogen with outbreak potential.

Proposals for non-communicable diseases should focus on cardiovascular disease, cancer, chronic respiratory disease, or diabetes, as well as shared risk factors and determinants within and outside the health sector.

The project may describe the burden of specific diseases, explore ways to reduce risk or prevent illness, quantify the impact of interventions or systems, evaluate cost effectiveness of interventions or systems, or assist in translating public health data into prevention practices and products to effectively reduce illness and death.

FFRDC's enable agencies to use private sector resources to accomplish tasks that are integral to the mission and operation of the sponsoring agency.
