The Federal Transit Administration (FTA) announces the availability of $7,000,000 in Fiscal year (FY) 2016 research funds, authorized by the Fixing America’s Surface Transportation Act (FAST Act), Public Law 114-94, to demonstrate and evaluate innovative technologies and safer designs to improve
public transportation safety.
FTA is seeking to fund cooperative agreements to engage in demonstration projects focused in the following two thematic areas:
(a) collision avoidance and mitigation and (b) transit worker safety protection.
