phase of service would provide two daily round-trip trains between New Orleans, Louisiana, and Mobile, Alabama, as part of a state-supported corridor route.
After that decision, Amtrak, CSX, and Norfolk Southern agreed to evaluate any necessary improvements for service along the New Orleans to Mobile route which led to the Operations Simulation for Implementing Passenger Rail Service, New Orleans, LA to Mobile, AL (“Project”).
This funding opportunity makes available $250,852 to Amtrak to perform operations simulation to determine necessary improvements for implementing Passenger Rail Service, New Orleans, LA to Mobile, AL.
