Energizing Insular Communities Program 2019

The Office of Insular Affairs (OIA) is requesting proposals for its Energizing Insular Communities(EIC) Program, which provides grant funding for energy projects and strategies that reduce the cost of electricity to the territories and Freely Associated States (FAS).

This program is intended

to support the Department’s priority to utilize our natural resources by ensuring American Energy is available to meet security and economic needs.

The focus of the 2019 EIC funding program is to implement priority actions identified in jurisdiction's strategic energy plan and/or energy action plan.

Eligible applicants are non-federal entities such as local government entities, independent authorities, and educational institutions located in the U. S. territories of Guam, American Samoa, U. S. Virgin Islands, and the Commonwealth of the Northern Mariana Islands, as well as the local government entities of the Freely Associated States of: the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau.
