Announcement of a Request for Applications (RFA) to examine the attitudes, beliefs and perceptions about seat belt use among newly-arrived Hispanic immigrants to the U.
S.
Competition under this RFA is restricted to competition among state governments, academic institutions, non-profit organizations and for profit organizations.
One Award will be made.SUMMARY:
The objective of this Cooperative Agreement is to examine the attitudes, beliefs and perceptions about seat belt use among newly-arrived Hispanic immigrants to the U.
S.
(i.e., within the last five years) and to develop and test educational materials, engage law enforcement, and use other resources that will persuade this population to buckle up on every trip.
The projectÂ’s ultimate goal is to provide insight and strategies to States and communities to enable them to take enforcement activities and other steps to ensure that Hispanic citizens in their areas are riding buckled up consistently.
