Other Needs Assistance - Lost Wages

In an effort to help ease the financial burden on those who are unemployed because of the COVID-19 pandemic, President Trump has authorized FEMA to use Stafford Act disaster relief funds to provide supplemental payments for lost wages due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Relief Funding is available to support this initiative.To help meet the needs of the American people, the FEMA Administrator is authorized to award grants to state and territory governments to administer supplemental payments for lost wages under Other Needs Assistance, in accordance with section 408 (e)(2) of the Stafford Act (42 U.S.C.

5174 (e)(2)) and 44 C.F.R.

§20 6. 119(c)(6)(ii) for major disasters declared by the President pursuant to section 401 of the Stafford Act (42 U.S.C.§ 5170) for COVID-1 9.

A Gilesgate-based shop and community facility, Hexham’s Core Music, launches a separate workshop where up to six people will be trained how to repair guitars and make ukuleles. The European Social Fund grant supported the project and has secured funds through the County Durham Communication Foundation to equip the workshop in Burn Lane.
