This APS solicits applications that support the goal to improve nutritional status of women and children, with a special emphasis on building resilience through the prevention and treatment of undernutrition while targeting the first 1000 days of a child’s life (conception – 24 months of age)
through three main categories of intervention.1:
Increase access to and consumption of diverse and quality foods 2:
Improve nutrition and hygiene-related behaviors 3:
Increase utilization of high impact nutrition and WASH promotion and treatment services.
The program will support the nutrition continuum of availability, access and utilization of diverse and high quality foods, associated care seeking and improved nutrition and hygiene practices, or fill gaps in this continuum in specific geographic locations (Food Security, Nutrition and WASH Clusters, and Resilience).
Applicants shall propose intervention zones that are part of the target health districts below.
USAID recognizes that there are many approaches one can take to achieve this objective; therefore, this APS is open to a range of projects.
