USAID’s Women’s Economic and Social Empowerment (“Transform”)

USAID’sWomen’s Economic and Social Empowerment (“Transform”) activity seeks to reducethe gender gap in economic and social opportunities between Pakistani men andwomen.

This project will work primarilyin the Newly Merged Districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (NMD/KP, the

credit:


formerFederally Administered Tribal Areas), Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), as well as otherpriority geographies to help women earn higher incomes, reduce inequality ineconomic and social participation, and reduce gender-based violence.

Successful completion of this activity willcreate a more supportive environment for women's political, social, andeconomic empowerment.

USAID seeksresults-based, cost-effective, and creative solutions from local andinternational development partners and the private sector to achieve theseobjectives.

Additional Information of Eligibility:
Eligible applicants include State or Territory agencies or departments with water or power delivery authority, i.e., State departments of water resources, State engineer’s offices, and other State or Territory agencies, departments, and boards with water management authority; Federally recognized Indian tribes with water or power delivery authority--the term “Indian tribe” has the meaning given in section 4 of the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act (25 U.S.C.

450b); Irrigation and water districts; Entities created under State or Territorial law with water management authority, which may include water user associations, water conservancy districts, and canal, ditch, and reservoir companies; Municipal water or power delivery authorities; and Other organizations with water or power delivery authority.

Applicants must also be located in the western United States or Territories as identified in the Reclamation Act of June 17, 1902, as amended and supplemented; specifically, Arizona, California, Colorado, Idaho, Kansas, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington, Wyoming, American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, and the Virgin Islands.

Those not eligible include entities without water or power delivery authority, such as: other State governmental entities, Federal governmental entities, institutions of higher education, and individuals.
