Preventing Transmission of HIV/AIDS from High Risk Groups in Nicaragua Program

The purpose of the Program will be to support the country efforts to slow the spread of HIV/AIDS in Nicaragua among most at risk populations (MARPS) to the broader population.

Most at risk populations include men who have sex with men (MSM) and female sex workers (FSW), among others.

/> Specifically, the Program will support activities designed to:
strengthen institutional capacity of non governmental organizations (NGOs) providing HIV/AIDS preventive services to MARPS, improve access to and quality of HIV/AIDS preventive services for MARPS and people living with HIV/AIDS (PLHIV)from NGO service providers, promote the reduction of stigma and discrimination directed against MARPS and PLHIV, and increase the active participation of NGOs representing MARPS and PLHIV in the national response to HIV/AIDS.
